Sunday September 08th Ticket – Thread Painting Punch Needle Workshop

Punch Needle is a form of embroidery, worked with a special tool called a Punch Needle that creates loops on the front of the fabric. It is often called “Thread Painting” due to the wonderful detail you are able to create, much like you can with a painting. The actual technique of punch needle is closely related to rug hooking but the fineness of its appearance, and greater detail, is more appropriately described as embroidery.

Our 3-hour workshop is meant to be a chill session, which we hope will provide you a space and time to slow down from the urgency of urban life. Free your mind from worries, and give your fingers a nifty crafty workout.

In this workshop you’ll practice the punch while you work on an abstract swirl pattern designed for this class. We will be using  embroidery floss during this session. Explore the various texture options to create your finished piece. We’ll discuss different types of punch tools, fabrics, and fibers that can be used and troubleshoot common issues.

This is a super satisfying fiber art that is fairly quick and easy, so it’s great for beginners!

Session Includes:
– All materials & tools for the session
– 1 punch needle artwork on embroidery hoop handcrafted by you to take home
– If you opt for the RM 190 option, you will also bring home a punch needle tool along with your artwork (You will only bring home the artwork if you opt for the RM 150 option)
– 1 drink of choice (Coffee/Tea) and pastries
