Sunday December 15th – Mandala Drawing Workshop

The word mandala comes from a Sanskrit word that generally means “circle”. Mandalas are beautiful symmetrical creations that can be as intricate as you wish. They are primarily drawn with concentric circles and include repeating patterns but the concept is definitely open to interpretation.

In this session, we will be painting a black and white Mandala with a hint of gold. You will be taught a few ways to get started creating hand drawn mandalas using simple repetitive techniques and easy to find supplies. Once you know how to start your mandalas, the next step is to take one mark or pattern at a time and build on it. Finished mandalas can look super complex but by taking it one step at a time, you too can draw a beautiful work of art while bringing a sense of peace to the process and to yourself.

The repetition of the design within a mandala is a form of meditation that quiets one’s mind and takes one outside the stress of everyday living. Participants will be guided to allow the marks to just happen and not be too planned and work at being ok with the design not being “perfect”.

Session Includes:
– All materials & tools for the session
– You’ll bring home a completed mandala artwork in A4
– You will also receive a complimentary contemporary art frame to frame your artwork
– Delicious refreshments

Time : 10am-1pm (Workshop will take approximately 3 hours, please be punctual so you have enough time to complete your artwork :))
