Sunday December 08th – Contemporary Latch Hooking & Lock Hooking Workshop
Latch Hooking and locker hooking are both fiber crafts traditionally used in creating rugs. In latch hooking, short segments of yarn are tied to the horizontal strands of a canvas grid; whereas in locker hooking, fibers are pulled through the canvas grid and fixed by locking cotton twine underneath the canvas. Both techniques can be used to make small rugs, wall hangings, chair pads, pillows and more!
In this session, we will be making a fluffy wall hanging. You’ll learn about the tools and techniques of both latch hooking and locker hooking to create beautiful home decor. We’ll also discuss the characteristics of different kinds of fibers and fabrics that can be used for different projects and troubleshoot common issues. This is a super satisfying fiber art that is fairly quick and easy, so it’s great for beginners!
