[Cancelled]Saturday March 28th – Coaster Making and Abstract Painting Workshop

In this workshop, we’re taking a twist from our best-selling abstract painting workshop and combining it with plaster casting.

You’ll start by creating a set of 4 coasters from scratch with plaster then paint on the coasters with guidance from Artist Mun. Artist Mun from The ArtThingy will explore a variety of mark-making techniques with an emphasis on finding what works for you. Mun will demonstrate drawing and painting intuitively on the coasters. She will also share with you a few of her favorite abstract painters and help you understand some of the concepts behind non-representational painting (painting without recognizable imagery). You will be encouraged to try new things as a way to experience breakthroughs. You will be finding ways to develop your own way of applying paint and to compose the visual space.

During this session, as oppose to traditional canvases, you will work on 4 units of plaster coasters created by yourselves. You will bring home a bottle of acrylic medium to further seal the surface of the coasters.

Session includes:
-All tools to be used during the session
-Take home a set of 4 coasters created & painting by yourself from scratch
-Take home a bottle of acrylic medium to further seal the surface of the coasters after they are completely dried out
-Delicious refreshments will be provided throughout the session

Time : 10am-1pm (Workshop will take approximately 3 hours, please be punctual so you have enough time to complete your artwork :))
