Saturday January 18th – Chevron Pleats Paper Art Workshop
Invented by a Japanese astrophysicist Koryo Miura, “Miura folds” are a shape-memory origami since the fold can be “remembered”—that is, after unfolding, the sheet can easily be re-folded and returned to its compact shape. It was first applied as a satellite in Japan’s Space Flyer Unit before it the development of other folds that allow materials to be packed into a compact shape.
In this class, get a hold to your first Miura by learning chevron pattern folding and how it can be applied as framed artwork or decoration baubles, guided by Paper Artist Nabihah (Instagram @be_beeb). Treat yourself to a relaxing folding creative weekend.
